A silly post but I couldn’t resist. This silly boy found the camera today and I swear he was posing. It’s like he knows that he is gorgeous! 💖 That blue backdrop against his brilliant (and fuzzy) winter coat. 🦄
Spring is on it’s way!! Hooray for the first outdoor work of the season. William loves the freedom that the roundpen offers. Here is some lateral rocking which he wanted to show you from several angles. (Please note, I do not regularly swish horses’ tails to get their attention. ☺️I know him very well and … Continue reading William
This girl is such a sweetheart and has beautiful manners. She was wary of bodywork at first but you can tell from this video that changed quickly. Today was the second time I worked on her. She is a big fan of telling me when she is ready to get back to the bodywork after … Continue reading Mira
My snuggly buddy, Slew. We worked on a full body session today and the end result was a lot of sinus draining and releasing. Drainage of the sinus passage is good for all horses but in particular for Slew. It is so rewarding to see that he has really taken to bodywork. It is hard … Continue reading Slew
I focused on hind end work for this session with William. Here I am watching for the muscles to relax allowing his hip joint to open slightly. Once those muscles start to relax he can let go of the tension that often accumulates in the hind end after working to carry himself.
The sun streaming through William’s window was so appreciated today! Wow, it felt almost warm in there. I started our bodywork with him in a half sheet so that he could adjust to having his blanket off. Clearly he enjoyed the bladder meridian, as usual. He has a cut above his eye from something out … Continue reading William – February 8
What a delight to get back to my boy after the incredible weekend workshop with Jim Masterson and team. He was outside when I got to the barn, so I brought him in and picked the snow out of his hooves. Then I said hi by resting my hand on his poll for a few … Continue reading William – February 7
What an awesome weekend in Tucson with Jim Masterson and his team! 🌵I am still processing all that I learned. The best part of the clinic was having a ton of hands on time with Jim and his assistant trainers providing instant feedback. I learned so much more by being in person for two days … Continue reading Masterson Method Weekend Workshop
It was a cold day at the barn! Tigger had some nice releases. He tends to hold his tension in his very strong front end so lateral cervical flexion is difficult for him. He enjoyed light work on the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
In this session I continue using the Bladder Meridian Technique on William. Now that he is accustomed to the technique I find he lets go of tension sooner than he did when he was still figuring out what I was doing. I usually do the entire scan twice because I find the horses I am … Continue reading William – January 9
